EmPowered Schools and Utilities
The EmPowered Schools program has been funded by utilities including Southern California Edison, National Grid, Pacific Gas & Electric, New Jersey Natural Gas, South Jersey Gas, and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. EmPowered Schools has helped utilities meet their goals for educational and community outreach and workforce training, and has helped promote awareness and adoption of their other programs with residential customers. EmPowered Schools offers a PreK-12th grade curriculum that educates students on everything from energy basics and school-based efficiency measures to career opportunities in the energy and utility fields. Offering interactive lesson plans, energy audit training, leadership development, and hands-on work experience, EmPowered Schools takes a comprehensive approach to equipping next generation of energy-efficiency professionals.
